Coaching Approaches & Methods
As Nursing is a profession that allows counseling as a part of our practice, I have experience counseling as well as coaching. Though both are important, they vary in significant ways. In my coaching practice, my goal is to help you discover the solutions that you need in your life by looking internally. I employ somatic techniques that help you get in touch with your own body's feelings and sensations as well as becoming more aware of what your needs are.
About
I've worked as a design professional for most of my career. But, I am also an RN and received my Executive MBA. As such, I'm equally right/left brained - creative and analytical. I've worked as an entrepreneur at times, as well as for small companies and large corporations. More significantly, as an RN in the ICU, much of my work was in coaching patients come to terms with a health crisis and life transition in the most acute and often unexpected way, where they were vulnerable emotionally and physically. It's the part of nursing that brought me the most joy. I understand what it means when what we see in our lives is not matching up with what we want to see.
